We're looking for original stories and essays, artwork, and illustrations about travel, growth, and alternative life paths. People from all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to submit. Preference is given to unique topics and places that aren't typically covered.

For example, we love reading about New York and Los Angeles, but would prefer stories set in other locations. Same goes for travel destinations.

Examples of non-fiction work we're looking for include personal essays and articles, similar to publications like Lonely Planet and National Geographic, but in your original voice. It's okay to be snarky, weird, sarcastic or imaginative in your writing.

Examples of fictional work we're looking for include short stories with writing similar to authors like Flannery O'Connor and Sylvia Plath.

If you're interested in submitting to Driftyland for writing, please provide a 100-300 word pitch and proposed title to driftyland [at] gmail [dot] com, as well as if it is fiction or non-fiction.

If you are interested in submitting artwork to Driftyland, please provide examples of previous work and/or a watermarked sketch. Weird and wild submissions are welcome.

If you are not a writer, but have an interesting story to tell, please pitch and make a note that you need story assistance. Sending in ideas does not guarantee a spot. Stories and artwork must be yours to share and written about you.
