Why This Site (and The Zine) Exist

The internet is overflowing with travel content to the point where it’s hard to tell what’s real anymore. Major publications blur the line between honest recommendations and sponsored content. Influencers mean well, but once compensation gets involved, there’s the risk of bias. Bloggers are pushed to run ads. Restaurants and hotels seek Yelp and Google reviews just to stay visible.

Somewhere in all of that noise, something I love about travel feels like it’s slipping away. The quiet magic of stumbling on a place naturally. The joy of hearing about a destination from someone who genuinely loved it. The kind of discovery that makes you feel really connected to a place.

That’s why I turn to film. Movies spark something in me: they remind me how good it feels to step into a story, and to follow a trail of imagery and mood into the real world. So on my website and in the zine, I’m building trips inspired by some of my favorite films. It’s my way of reclaiming that sense of wonder and, hopefully, sharing a little of it with all of you.
