When everyone and anyone goes to Iceland, they head right to the Blue Lagoon.

Forget that — I stopped at the Myvatn Nature Baths in Northeastern Iceland. It was dupes worth it.

Imagine how your high-waisted bikini would look in the stunning light blue waters of the Myvatn Nature Baths. Like the page of a Free People catalog, that’s how!

The water here is bathwater/hot tub hot, depending on where you’re standing. The temperature varies throughout. It’s mostly comfortable, with some really hot spots. But dude, be cool about it. Don’t be like the chubby thirteen year old I saw that kept screaming bloody murder whenever he swam through them.

This is a place for relaxation and musing over your decision to get a mustache tattooed on your finger – not yelling and carrying about.

The best part about this place is how remote it is. If you come to Iceland and you’re a hipster, come here, and then tell everyone how you skipped the Blue Lagoon in Reykjavik. That’s what I did (you know, until I eventually ended up there).

Bonus: Myvatn got Wi-Fi and cake.
