Tips and Tools for Travel
Google Flights and Going (my cousin Dylan swears by Going) are great for finding flights. I use Booking, Hotels.com, and Airbnb for finding rooms and places to stay. Viator is my go-to excursion website. My advisor, Jen, in the Food Studies department at NYU, recommends Context Travel and GPS My City.
There are a ton of travel sites out there, but I like:
- Booking.com and Hotels.com (for their rewards)
- Viator for booking adventures (with Rakuten for cash back)
- Google Flights is my old reliable for finding cheap flights
This sounds like an ad, but I personally get a lot out of it: Rakuten is a Chrome plugin that offers 10%, 12%, or even 20% cashback on hotels, activities, car rentals, and more. My referral link is www.rakuten.com/r/DRIFTY55 (We both get a one-time $50 bonus if you sign up; I have no partnership with Rakuten. Use it or don’t, doesn’t matter to me!)
