I don’t have a lot of accessories. There’s my whole minimalism thing, but also, I’m just super picky about jewelry. But I have fantasized about owning a turquoise ring.
I looked for turquoise rings when I was in Phoenix, but didn’t have much luck. I was only there for a day, not trying to suggest they don’t have a lot to pick from.
I came across a jewelry case in Baltimore, when I was visiting the Hampden neighborhood with my friend Emily. There, sat a few stunning turquoise rings.
It got me perusing Etsy for similar pieces and various styles.
The Raw Stone Look
I love how the turquoise looks like it was just plopped onto a setting. It’s got such an authentic, artsy look to it that I haven’t really seen anywhere else. This particular piece retails for $65 on Etsy, by maker Inbalmishan. She also has other stones, such as rose quartz and opal that are just as special looking.
Inbal, the shop owner, is from Israel and draws inspirations for her designs from various cultures.
The Earthy Look
This piece is so eye catching – the turquoise, gathered in Arizona, per the product description, isn’t picture perfect and has a great, gritty look. Pairing it with copper is perfect, it literally looks like the copper just melted over a few stones and naturally took that shape. Grab this ring, and similar ones, for just $45 smackaroos from Pebble and Stone Store on Etsy. It comes in fancy packaging, too.
The shop owner, Alicia, resides in Michigan and also makes flawless gem earrings.
The Boho/Festival Look
I’m already thinking of all the maxi/flowy skirts I could wear with this ring. I love the metalwork, the stone is perfect, and it’s a great addition to any festival wardrobe for just $12 (?!?!). Distorted Earth also has a ton of other great rings to choose from that have a similar look and price.
Distorted Earth is actually a husband/wife team out of Newport, NJ. In addition to the incredible jewelry, they also have a home decor shop with wood framed mirrors, industrial furniture, and wood centerpieces and frames called Country By The Bumpkins (also on Etsy).
The Vintage Look
In addition to this authentic 70s vintage ring, this Switzerland based Etsy shop has SO many other incredible pieces to choose from. This particular one is a size 8, and caught my eye because of the bold details. Grab it for $84, or explore the rest of CosmicNorbu’s selection.
The shop recently posted an update with dazzling finds from their last buying trip. We’re talking carved tooth amulets, people!
The Storybook Look
So this is technically a wedding band, but GAH – look at it! It looks like it’s a part of a tree. I love that. The maker, codysanantonio, custom makes these rings and also does rings without gems for guys. It’s super cool, plus, Cody is a fellow blogger. Retails for $220 or you can get a custom one made (not the same price).
Cody is an artist from Champaign, Illinois, and to quote her Etsy profile, “likes juxtaposition”.
The Beachy Look
This one is my favorite and of course, the most untraditional of turquoise rings. Some may argue it’s not really a turquoise ring, but whatever. It’s simple and minimal and I would definitely wear it. $68 from Etsy shop MoorgWoodWorks in Slovenia, and yes – there are others.
