Last Saturday, my childhood friend, Rachael, got married.
Over 25 years ago, our mothers met at a toddler’s swim class where our older siblings were enrolled. Rache and I were immediately destined to be friends after that. We spent countless hours as kids creating soap opera-esque dramas with our Barbies and watching our favorite movie, “Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion”.
She married her college sweetheart, Brian, at a quiet ceremony in Smithville, NJ after ten years of dating.
Not to be cliché, but the most touching part of the night were the vows. Nothing but talk about marrying your best friend, and prioritizing their happiness on the same level as yours. A close second was their spectacular first dance to “Harvest Moon” (embedded below).
Other takeaways: chinese food is always a good idea, I look spectacular in a sea captain’s hat, and dinosaur cake toppers are the only cake toppers you should ever have.
